This course was well presented using a variety of styles, text, videos & images. It was well organised into historical contexts & modern issues to take the learner of a journey of understanding & empathy. I was able to revisit many stories such as the Freedom Rides and was given even more wonderful images and insights to expand my previous experiences.

Thank you for this course. All Australian schools should make learning the history of their country mandatory, including understanding the reasons behind the statistics in Australia. These issues are reflected historically and in real time across all Commonwealth countries, affecting and marginalising Indigenous communities through targeting, vilification, disenfranchisement, and displacement.

I found this course very useful and informative. It was easy to navigate around the site and the information is a must do and very important for anyone who is working with Aboriginal people or working in remote communities.

I have learnt so much in this course. It is very well put together and easy to follow even if I stopped for a break it was easy to resume the course. I have learnt more about Relationships not only with Indigenous but also non Indigenous, and to respect others Cultures and beliefs.

Great course to cover off the basics of this area of cultural sensitivity, I learned a good deal.

I have been drawn positively towards a deeper understanding of Indigenous people and their plight. This introductory course hardly scrapes the surface of the wrongs visited upon indigenous people for over two centuries since Cook's first contact. It grieves me every time I hear personal accounts of victims who have lived through the horrible mismanagement of institutions charged with protection and nurturing of the children Stolen from their families by ugly Darwinian laws. Courses like this one will help us all to grow in our respect and caring for Australia's Indigenous population.

This course was well written. I found the information very enlightening with some really important ideas for engaging with Indigenous students.

A wonderful insight to the history and culture of the Indigenous people of Australia and the challenges faced by them after colonisation.

As a displaced Aboriginal (that is... my family was denied knowledge of, and access to, our Aboriginal ancestry), I found this course to be enlightening. I can't wait to move on to the next module and hopefully learn more about my roots. Thank you!

An extremely informative course. There was a lot of content to get through particularly with the added time for the videos. The selection of videos was excellent and well put together. I have studied Aboriginal history and culture and worked in Indigenous communities for many years but still found I was learning something more about Aboriginal people and their culture on every page. I am very glad I completed the course and hope that I can better support Aboriginal communities to stand together in strength and unity toward common goals.
